Youth Rowing

Due to COVID-19, the spring Youth Rowing program is yet to be finalized for 2021
  • Youth Learn to Row and Season Rowing
  • 5 day private or semi-private LTR in a single or double
  • one or two students per week starting July 20th
  • 9:30 to 11:00 am or 10:00 to 11:30am
  • Starting in touring shell and progressing to racing shell
  • unlimited rowing rest of season
  • $300

  • 6 weeks starting May 4th to June 14th
  • 5 sessions on water training per week
  • for new and experienced rowers, ages 14 to 18
  • $300

  • Try-Out Rowing
  • for Youth only - free
  • Sun May 3rd 7:00-8:30am or 8:30-10:00am
  • Seats must be reserved in advance

Learn to Row

For the start of the season, Learn to Row courses will be in single rowing shells.
The group Learn to Row weekends, if allowed, will be finalized later in 2021

Dates: May 23rd/24th; or May 30th/31st
Saturday 9 am to 4 pm and Sunday 9 am to noon

Rowing is the best overall fitness sport going; fun for families and individuals.   Experienced rowing instructors will introduce you to the fundamentals and help you develop your skills and safety awareness as you crew in a variety of boats.   Participants are treated to a friendly encouraging experience, as they crew with club members in a variety of boats.   By the end, you will feel confident in your ability to come out to row and to take advantage of one of the best overall fitness sports going.

Discover rowing on Lake Couchiching and just how much fun it can be. Learn the basic techniques and develop your rowing skills through a combined land and lake program and practise on the water with learners and experienced rowers as fellow crew members. There is plenty of opportunity to learn and gain basic skills in a relaxed and encouraging environment.

  • a "Learn to Row" course is required for any person who has never rowed before.
  • location: Boat House (Tudhope Park beside ball diamond)
  • one on-land safety orientation session, plus 4 on-water lessons
  • fee includes all rowing instruction, use of equipment, BBQ lunch (Sat), Club T-shirt and mandatory RowOntario and Rowing Canada fees
  • $225 / per person

Full Season Memberships

Due to COVID-19, information is yet to be finalized for 2021

Unlimited rowing opportunities during scheduled row times (July to October)

  • Prerequisite: - Learn-to-Row or previous membership with the Orillia Rowing Club or another recognized rowing club AND are in good standing

  • $380   

    Fee includes the Rowing Canada & RowOntario fees ($52.87)
    not included are any additional costs for regatta entry fees, equipment transportation costs

Volunteer time will be needed to work Bingo when it resumes. Please refer to registration form.

See Lake Country from on the water!   We plan a club rowing tour at least once a month on a different lake or local waterway throughout the rowing season.  Bring a picnic lunch and a sense of adventure as you join a rowing crew in our stable “un-tippable” touring boats.   We'll combine the physical challenge of rowing with plenty of time to relax, swim and take in the beauty of the Ontario shoreline.  

Prerequisite: - Learn-to-Row and current membership with the Orillia Rowing Club or another recognized rowing club.

Card Rowing

  • Pay-as-you-Row plan

  • For anyone who has already had an 'Learn-To-Row' course or has previous rowing experience, who wants to row for a limited number of times in a summer or wants to row a few more times before deciding to get a full membership

  • $160 for 5 rows
  • $300 for 12 rows
  • Includes the Rowing Canada & RowOntario fees ($52.87).
  • Volunteer time will be needed to work Bingo when it resumes. Please refer to registration form.

Performance Competitive Program

This program caters to athletes that are competitive by nature and are looking to challenge themselves in the sport.

For rowers (aged 14 - 25) who have completed the youth rowing program or the learn to row program or have previous rowing experience

C1 Stream

  • introductory level training for those new to Competitive rowing
  • 3 to 6 training sessions per week

Fee: $380 for the on-water season

C2 Stream

  • for athletes who aspire to become an elite rower
  • racing opportunities at regional and provincial regattas, with possible participation at national regattas
  • 5 to 9 training sessions per week depending on goals

Fee: $680 for a full year
